5 Common Social Media Mistakes You Might Be Making In 2022.
Today we're talking about social media mistakes... Yip, we’ve all made them. 🙋♀️🫠 Thankfully 2010 is long gone, and hopefully those cringe statues & selfies we uploaded have finally vanished far into the abyss.. 🤞
Social media for Business is a whole ‘nother ball game and if you’re making these 5 common mistakes on the reg, then you most probably won’t be seeing much progress online.
Today we’re aiming to help you notice where you're falling short online; so you can re-assess, re-group and propel your biz forward. 🏹
Without further or do, here are 5 common social media mistakes (you’re probably) making in 2022.
1. Quality over quantity
“But I’ve gotta get this post out” … Being consistent is great, but you’ve also got to make sure that what you’re putting out there is quality.
We see it repeatedly, filler posts to add some sort of consistency, to fill that feed up - but guys, you're better than this!
Quality over quantity 👏🏼 every 👏🏼 single 👏🏼 time. 👏🏼
Spend time brainstorming with your team to discuss your upcoming posts for the month ahead. To make it easier, use a social media calendar for the month or search "upcoming June holidays" to give you some future post ideas.
By thoughtfully crafting content that aligns with you and your brand's voice, you give yourself individuality and a point of difference. This is far better than a filler post, any day of the week.
2. Not engaging with your audience
At the end of the day, your audience will support you, like and share your posts; but by not engaging with them, you start to create a barrier between the two of you.
It's essential to aim to build a relationship with your audience. Spend some time getting to know your followers by asking them questions and finding out more about them. Reply to comments and messages, do a Q&A, and play a game of this or that. By doing these things, you begin to build a community around you that you can rely on, and that's pretty damn cool.
3. Posting & Ghosting
The post and ghost is a classic move! We've all been guilty of it, regularly posting and then suddenly you just fall off the face of the earth for a good 4 months… but sadly, Instagram's not going to grow your business for you.
If you're an online service provider, or run an e-commerce biz, then you're gonna want to keep an active online presence.. because how else are people going to get linked to your website?
Keep posting, and give them a boost to get your name out there. Staying top of mind is the aim of the game.
4. Not utilising story’s
Stories are fun, they're interactive, and they're also an excellent way to keep active on the gram. If you've missed a feed post for the week, but you've kept active on the storeys each day - then you're most likely still going to be top of mind for most people, AND if you've also been keeping engaged with your audience, then that is undoubtedly a win-win in our eyes. 👏🏼
5. Not making hashtags your friend
If you're under the impression that hashtags are dead…News flash💥
Hashtags are still very much alive. Hashtags will help spread your post in multiple places at once, so make them your best friend! Ultimately, hashtags help your people find you. Carefully select keywords that suit your niche and run with them. We recommend 30 hashtags on every post. Give it a whirl and watch your engagement soar.
